April 27 (Kings Day) SHOWROOM CLOSED

Joep Cox

My name is Joep Cox, photographer at E&R Classics. I followed the photography course at Sint Lucas. In my spare time I was already busy with photography of vintage cars and to make this my profession was of course completely fantastic.

My very first car is a black Mazda MX5 from 1992. Because of this car I learned to tinker with (classic) cars myself and I made these completely circuit proof. When the weather is nice, I can often be found on the Nürburgring where I have already driven countless laps on the Nordschleife.

My absolute dream car is a 1989 Ferrari F40 Competizione. I love the lines of this classic Ferrari, combined with its performance.

Suppose you had to give someone a lift. Who would that be and why?
If I could give anyone a lift it would be Richard Thompson. He is a well-known car photographer and photographs all kinds of vintage cars and supercars in the most beautiful locations in the world.

What is your best car related memory?
My best car-related memory is of course one at the Nürburgring. Not in my own Mazda MX5, but when I got to get behind the wheel of a classic Porsche myself. This is an experience I will never forget.

What makes a working day at E&R Classics so much fun for you?
What makes a working day at E&R Classics so much fun for me is that I can work with special classic cars every day. It is always a surprise to me what kind of classic cars come in. From a restored Austin Healey, Jaguar E-Type or Mercedes-Benz Pagoda to a Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet or Citroën 2CV. Every classic car has its charms and that diversity always makes it a challenge for me.
