1956 Jaguar XK140

The 1956 Jaguar XK140 was the first Jaguar sports car with an automatic transmission. As with all XK140 models, it was available in 3 body styles. The Open Two Seater Roadster had a canvas top that fit behind the seats. The Drop Head Coupe had a permanently mounted padded top that sat above the body of the car when lowered. Unlike the Open Two Seater, it had a fixed windscreen. Buyers also appreciated the availability of wire wheels and dual exhausts, which were available on the 1956 Jaguar.

The interior of the 1956 Jaguar XK140 was also improved. The single battery was now located quite deep inside the wing on the inlet side. The Jaguar XK140 became one of the most desirable sport cars in the market, with a number of cars being exported primarily to the USA. A few tips for this particular model include: inspect for rust, ensure as many components as possible are original, ask for documentation regarding history, and be aware of the potential costs of maintenance and restoration.
