In 1952, the 170 DS appeared: the more luxurious 170 S body combined with the famous diesel engine, with which Mercedes further expanded its pioneering role in the field of diesel. This version became extremely popular, especially among business drivers, due to its fuel efficiency and indestructible character. This 1952 170 DS is equipped with the 1767cc four-cylinder diesel engine, coupled to a four-speed manual gearbox: a powertrain known for its reliability and quiet, smooth running. This specific car was restored between 2006 and 2009, and a photo report of that restoration is available. Since then, it has been driven only 9,000 kilometers, meaning the car still looks immaculate today.
